ESSAY: BLACKPINK'S ROSE

My Favorite South Korean Person

South Korea is a country possessing phenomenal beauty and is filled with wonderful and talented people.  However, it wasn’t hard for me to pick someone who’s my favorite amongst them. I love music as it connects people, cultures, countries and the whole world. I really got into k-pop and it didn’t take long for me to discover the glorious and enthralling k-pop group ‘Blackpink’. Undoubtedly, the group is filled with amazing people, however, there was one member who particularly captivated my heart and I felt an instant connection with. It was Park Chae-young, more popularly known by her stage name “Rose”. She is one of the best singers I’ve heard.

“Dream big while you can and enjoy it” -Rose.  Her birth name is Rosseanne Park and she is currently residing in Seoul, South Korea. The artist has gained an incredibly large fan following and is ranked among the top ten most followed k-pop artists on Instagram. She is an integral part of the group and a sweetheart rumored to be dating Jeon Jungkook of the famous k-pop group ‘BTS’ besides the rumor of her dating ‘Chanyeol’ of ‘EXO’. She likes to keep her personal life private.

She has a great personality and mixes well with others. She has tremendous charisma and is spectacular on stage. She is very kind, compassionate, modest, adventurous, alluring, and magical and these words can’t define how much I love her or how astonishing she is. Rose has a different approach to life and she is a very interesting person. Born on February 11, 1997, the twenty-two year old has achieved a lot more than most people her age. She has won many music awards and has been nominated for a lot of awards. She leads a busy life and is always on the clock with a tough and tight schedule to deal with and yet she doesn’t let go of her angelic smile. She is extremely beautiful and adorable having sensitive and delicate facial features which are distinct. The warm glow on her face and her down-to-earth behavior adds to her inner beauty. She reminds me of a dove (bird) because she is just as peaceful and tempting. She is really close to her fellow band-mate, Blackpink’s Lisa. The two flaunt their friendship and I love Rose’s authenticity. She never puts on a fake fascade to win hearts. She was born in Auckland, New Zealand as her parents had emigrated from South Korea to her birth place and later moved to Melbourne, Australia. This explains her Australian accent. She has appeared in popular music videos and had a solo career in the past.

She has been active in the industry of music and entertainment from 2012-present and debuted as a member of Blackpink on August 8, 2016. She trained a lot and was signed by YG Entertainment at the age of 15. From her early childhood, Rose has shown interest in singing and wanted to become a professional singer and musician. She has also been asked by many famous and renowned companies to endorse and promote their brands.  I really admire her unforgettable charm and lovable personality. I think that it would be safe and accurate to say that she is my favorite South Korean personality.
